Every so often I get a message like this one:
“I can’t follow more people till I get more followers - so please follow me!”
What’s wron?.
First, you’re in a one-down position. You are asking others to deal with your needs, not proposing a business exchange.
Second, there’s an easy fix to this problem without soliciting followers.
Go to http://www.friendorfollow.com.
You will be asked to type in your twitter username.
Then you get a list of all the people you follow who are NOT following you. You can un-follow them and now you’re back in business.
Who to un-follow?
It’s easy. You’ll quickly see non-followers with no avatar or photo. I’d remove those first.
Then just choose a handful at a time. You don’t need to un-follow many. Remember that Twitter allows an imbalance of10%. So if you follow 5000 people you just need 4500 followers. Typically once you remove as few as 10 or 20 un-followers, you’re back in business.
