Every so often I invite my ezine list to check out an offer, from myself or someone else. I can tell when I’m pushing the envelope: they unsubscribe or stop opening my ezine. They stop signing up for the weekly Cat Chats (every Tuesday at 10 AM - sign up here to get notifications).

Nearly all of my promotions invite listeners to attend a teleseminar. Many of us think, “Oh no…not another sales call.”

But if you’re marketing on the Internet, with your own website, you can seize each announcement as an opportunity. For instance, right now I am listening to a marketing call from Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero. She’s promoting her Red Hot Bootcamp: Copywriting for Women. I recommend the Bootcamp to any serious copywriters, whether you’re targeting men or women.

But let’s say you are not interested in learning how to write copy for anyone, let alone women. You still benefit by listening.

You know Lorrie is one of the most successful Internet marketers. She’s paid a fortune to learn how to sell via teleseminars. So why not sit by the phone and take notes?

  • What’s the opening?
  • What’s the structure of the call?
  • What does she sell?
  • How does she avoid giving away the store (but still share solid information)?
  • What kinds of metaphors and images does she include?
  • How does she use her personality (and what’s your style)?

Take detailed notes on her sales pitch - the moment when she talks about her program.

And now you have a FREE marketing lesson.

You can even go one step further. Get Kathleen Gage’s free ebook and learn about how to use teleseminars to market yourself and your products. Now as you listen, compare what you’re hearing to what Kathleen recommends.

That’s why I have no qualms about promoting products and services to my list. I promote only products and people I believe in. They’re successful. You can learn from them, even if you have no interest in buying.

About Lorrie’s Bootcamp — don’t be surprised when you say yes to her pitch. She’s good!
