Michel Fortin wrote a cool post about “upwords.” Read it here. (I wouldn’t miss a post from Michel - he’s one of the good ones.) I call it “painting word pictures.”
He talks about making images vivid for your readers. In his example, a news anchor says, “The fire is raging 140 feet…over 2 football fields.”
Now we’ve got it.
